the american athlete

In my final post I will talk about the number one athlete that I know and how he has made himself to be the success that he is now. One that stands by what he believes in.  Determination, hard work, hunger, and selfishness all thing that made this great man who he is starting off with determination, he knows that without determination you are useless to the world and have no real need/want to be successful next is hard work he knows that nobody works for you nobody holds your hand he knows life is an competition in which he plans to win. Hunger what he means by this is not what you eat but how you work to get feed, that the blood sweat and tears are all an accomplishment of his success. Last but not least is selfishness he know that he need’s everything to make it to the top and he is not willing to share with anybody he knows that second place might as well be last, an even at first there is room for improvement. The athlete that I am referring to is I Caleb Jamel Mathews. I know what I am and what I can do. I know my failure and my achievements and know what to work on to make myself better. In my eyes I am the American athlete.

the truth

Nobody hears the cry of the abused athlete nobody understands that along with fame, fans and money come’s struggle heart ache, humiliation and in severe cases death. Drug abuse what I see as the number one killer of an athlete career. Drugs can seep in anywhere but out probability of an athlete getting off an hard core drug such as cocaine, crack or even marijuana is very low this can affect an players attitude towards the game and even his/her performance.  Drugs make you feel one way but you ruin you in many others. There has been athlete that does steroids and find no way out besides death. I feel that to be athlete you have to be a role model and doing drugs is just a way to hide from that responsibility and that is wrong an inexcusable. To be an athlete is to be glorified and to be glorified is to be held to an standard that show people that anyone can make it to the top. In some cases people are victims and have no way to release themselves to the outer good that hides behind all the abuse and neglect that you encounter while doing drugs.

Harping on athletes

This is life where many people have troubles, commits crimes, and breaks bond but it seems that if you are an athlete and you commit an crime or any action that is not in perfect light of the media you have to be ridiculed, talked about and even put out of work such as Michael Vick who committed an violent act against nature by dog fight. After he served his time he should have been fine forgiven for his wrong’s but no till this day you can Google his name and find picture that attacks his image not only as a human but as a football player. And this is unfair if the average Joe like I where to commit this crime I would serve my time than be perfectly fine. This destroys career’s leaving men and women athletes out to struggle for a way to eat. Media personnel need to realize that what could be good for their business can be harmful to one’s life. Living is not all ways about what to do to make it to the top but also what you can do to help others to the top. Because the roles can all ways be reversed.

sportsmanship = honor

There is a lot of things that take the love and sportsmanship out of sport’s things like late hits, idiotic fights, but the worst of them all come’s after a play after the big touch down “SHOW BOATING” what is it basically its having excessive celebration after a play this occurs in many sport but especially in WWE AND WWF wrestling many exceed the limit of celebration but no one dose it like Dwayne Douglas Johnson commonly known as the rock. To be an athlete you have to be breed with honor and show boating is a way of showing that you do you not have honor nor integrity you have something called disgrace. Meaning having no class and that is what is being show after you lower yourself to the point that you run around yell and scream that you’re the best . It is only show that you don’t have to capability to accept win’s with pride and up hold those win’s up as the glory that they truly are. i know that many think it makes the game better making people glorify the sport as an whole but if this is true than we glorify for the wrong reason’s

what win's championship's

As march madness unwinds many people including myself come across a question “what does it take to win a championship” I have been on an team where I have won and lost championship’s but what does it take to win to be a champion you have to do more than just show up and play, you have to cry, sweat and bleed success and to fall short in any way is cheating yourself out of what could have been something you never would forget. In my previous experiences stepping into a championship game is more than just physical talent. A big part of the challenge it’s self is mental; heart, courage and wisdom but what do they mean? Having heart is something you are born with it is your responsibility to unlock that hidden emotion. That hides behind selfishness, sorrow, pity, hope, and love. Courage is the most basic of them all it is simply being proud of what you do no matter what anybody says last but not least wisdom what is it? It is the power to realize that in game situation there is no longer an I on your team there is only WE. There is no one man that has ever won any football, basketball or soccer championship by him/her it takes team work and that is what wins championships.

ROSE IS HYPE!!

I’m tired of hearing the hype over Derrick rose he is the average player it just so happens that he is the best player on their team (BULL’S) but that isn’t hard. Having a team full of scrubs, I could understand if he played alongside Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, but no he has no struggle, to quote states Mr. Rose in the 2011-2012 NBA season his field goal percentage so far is .450 compared to Mr. James or Mr. Bryant he is an disgrace to be called an MVP of any thing
He is nowhere close to being the new Michael Jordan and to put their name in the same sentence should be a crime. Rose is an special player to one team an one team only and to make him out to be more than what he is, is not just wrong but idiotic. In my heart to be an MVP (Most Valuable Player) you have to run your team, have an leadership attitude, play the best, beat the best and truly known without any question or concern that you are the best. And that does not describe derrick it describe the best player this year and time Kobe Bryant

Being a star athlete in any sport is a great thing in high school you work hard to strive for perfection in the class room and on the field/court but what happens at the next level? There is college athletes that get to the next level an forget that they are “student athlete they forget that they are given the privilege to play a college sport although they worked hard in high school they have to realize the work is just now beginning . There are teacher’s that will pass you because you are an athlete but are they really helping you? No there not, they are setting you up for failure what do you do when you get hurt and can’t play any more are they still going to pass you are do they expect you to step up more as an student an work harder how will they help you cope with the end of your career? I’ll tell you they won’t they will treat you like the average student and then you will be alone left with the will to play and the desire to give up on school the  thing that was most important in your life.

what is his fate?

at Once he was an top ten draft pick, a college star and now he’s broke out of work an hoping for an chance, Terrell Owens what do you think about when you here his name ? Bad sport’s man ship, a leader, or a symbol of trouble. Or do you see a man fighting to survive in a world of critics. Mr. Owens who was drafted back in 96’ to the San Francisco 49ers’ is having serious struggles as an athlete with the hunger to play and no team to feed that hunger. his past following him like an ghost and holding him back like shackles he still fights in this past off seasons he has been training harder than the average athlete making Dates for NFL’ scouts to come watch him. It has been very stressful in his last attempt he was left along holding his hope’s in one hand and his carrier in the other. What’s next is what we all want to now. Is he going to keep working? Is he going to quit or retire? Is all this really worth this pain and humiliation? Or is he just where he needs to be? Who knows?

is chad a has been?

Chad Johnson most people just see a football player. that was one of Cincinnati’s leading scores but once the Cincinnati jersey came off nobody saw his true struggle chad was traded  On July 28, 2011, the New England Patriots acquired Mr. Ochocinco in a trade with Cincinnati after he obtained  a three-year contract for $6.35 million. In this last season playing for the patriots what many can call his most unproductive season playing, catching 15 passes for 276 yards and scoring 1 touchdown in his previous season with the Cincinnati Bengals averaging 12.4 yards a carrier with a total of 831 yards for the season he has taken a huge hit or loss you can say one of the best receiver’s to play in Cincinnati might be taking a 3rd trip with number’s that low who wouldn’t be surprised by an trade or an release it would be logical to lose him. A chain is only strong as its weakest link and as shown by his last season he is there weakest chain, although releasing him they would take a $3.17 million salary cap but to make it to the top you have to make sacrifices and if a champion ship title would cost 3.17 million dollars let it be!!!!!!!
